Greek Sail 27th August - 10 September 2016
Sat 27 Aug 2016
Hi all,
I have committed to going back for another sailing adventure and explore of the Greek Islands.
Starts on the 27th August 2016 at Athens marina and looking for crew to join me on "Oto 2" from the 27th with the alternate start on the 4th September. I am happy to make other days, but you and other crew will have to make up the charter fee.
Having sailed a week last year, I can't wait to get back and have another go around. The boat will be the same as last time, a cosy 36 Jeanneau with 3 cabins and one shower / toilet. It is simple and fast to sail, has an autopilot and presents very clean and maintained despite its age.
Some essential bullets:
Start: 27th August or 4th Sept
Perfect crew size: 3 or 4
Charter fee budget: 400 Euro per person per week (maybe less)
Extras: Fuel, food, beverages, breakages
Proposed itinerary: Sailing around nearby islands. If weather favours, reaching out on long legs to famous islands like Santorini (but its a long way!)
Dining: Each island bay has a authentic Taverna or two with traditional food and plenty of wine.
Adventure: Plenty to see, hike and experience. Waters warm to expect to swim. Lots.
Internet: I will try again this year to purchase a local data sim so we can hotspot off a phone or similar for internet during the trip. Wifi is pretty good at island stops.. sort of...
Athens: Yes. If you have not been into Athens - its essential, culture history and food at the top of the list.
